Become a Young Library Developer - Inspire Other Youth to Read!

About the Position

Are you a creative young person looking for a fun and varied job? We at Örebro City Library are now hiring 5 young library developers who will work together to encourage more youth to read. With the support of project leaders and librarians, you will plan and execute activities. Here you have the chance to be involved in shaping the library's work with reading and youth!

Good to Know:

  • the position is aimed at those born between 2008 - 2009
  • no previous work experience is required
  • you will work a few hours per week after school and sometimes on weekends
  • you will work part of the summer vacation by agreement with your supervisor
  • the work will continue throughout 2025 with the possibility of extension
  • you will work in a team with other library developers who together find new ways to reach young people
  • you will plan activities and meet children and youth from all over Örebro

Examples of Tasks:

  • encourage youth to read
  • plan and create activities together with the project leader and librarians
  • be involved in shaping the library's work with reading and youth

About the Workplace

Örebro Library consists of a main library in central Örebro, 5 district libraries, four rural libraries, and two bookmobiles.

The position is based in the youth department of the city library. The youth department caters to ages 13–18 and is a place where young people influence and create content.

Qualifications

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Requirements:

  • you can read and write
  • you were born between 2008 - 2009

We would like you to:

  • dare to try and implement new things
  • have an easy time collaborating with others
  • be driven, creative, and able to take your own initiatives
  • speak more languages than Swedish, such as Arabic, Somali, or Kurdish
  • feel comfortable meeting and talking with both adults and young people

Scope and Start Date

Employment type: hourly

Working hours: after school/weekends

Start date: May 12 or by agreement

Number of positions: 5-6
